Two Things to Think About When Renting a Wedding Marquee
Here are two things to think about when renting a wedding marquee.
How low or high the marquee's ceiling should be
One important thing to consider is how high the wedding marquee's ceiling should be. A marquee with a lower ceiling might be the right choice if you have a small wedding budget, as it would be cheaper to cool or warm up this type of marquee (using a mobile heater or air conditioner) than to cool or heat one with a higher ceiling. A marquee like this could also be ideal if you're having a small wedding and want a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, as the lowish ceiling will help to make the marquee interior feel enclosed and cosy.
However, if the cost of heating or cooling the marquee isn't a concern for you, and your wedding will be a big, luxurious event, a marquee with a very high ceiling might be the better choice. This is because it's much easier to create a grand and opulent look in a venue when its ceiling is high. Furthermore, having extra ceiling height will give you more scope for bigger and more glamorous lighting fixtures, such as large crystal chandeliers, that will add to the interior's ultra-lux appearance.
How many windows (if any) the marquee should have
A second thing to consider is how many windows (if any) you'd prefer the wedding marquee to have. If you have a daytime wedding in a marquee with lots of windows, you might not have to spend much money or time ordering artificial lights for its interior, as there might be enough natural light to illuminate the inside. This could be useful if you're planning your wedding in a rush or with a small budget. A marquee with many windows might also be a good idea if you'll be having the wedding in a scenic area, where there are, for example, lots of beautiful flowers or buildings nearby, that the guests might enjoy viewing as they eat their meals.
Conversely, if you are hosting the wedding in a busy place where there will be lots of random people around, you might prefer a marquee with either no windows or just a few small ones. The absence of lots of large windows could give you privacy on your special day, even in this busy setting. A windowless marquee might also be a good choice if you're having a daytime wedding, but the weather is likely to be cloudy or rainy, as you wouldn't have to worry about there being dark, gloomy clouds or rain-splattered windows in the background of the photos your guests take whilst inside the marquee.
